Located In the heart of historic Gruene, the New Braunfels Museum of Art & Music is one of the most exciting additions to the arts and entertainment scene in Central Texas. Formerly the Hummel Museum and Art Gallery, its mission is to document, preserve, and exhibit Texans’ contributions to diverse cultural traditions focusing on music and the decorative arts of the Southwest. As an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute, the museum has access to vast resources for exhibits whose subjects have included the fiddle, historic Texas dance halls, the accordion, and other topics with regional relevance. Frequent concerts and events further illuminate the rich tradition of music in Comal country, and Texas in general.
