Littlefield, the county seat of Lamb County, is proud to claim outlaw country music legend Waylon Jennings as its native son. Born there in 1937, Jennings first explored his musical calling in this small west Texas town. Founded by George W. Littlefield, the city was incorporated in 1924, and rapidly a flourishing business center for the local cotton industry. Still thriving in the textile industry, Littlefield boasts a temperate climate, attractive to visitors the year round.

Waylon enthusiasts will find an abundance of attractions in Littlefield, from the water tower proclaiming Jennings’ roots, to the Jennings Service Station, owned and operated by Waylon’s brother James, who is always happy to chat with visitors about his famous brother. Soon, the historic Duggan House will become a museum with a permanent exhibit dedicated to the country music legend. Visitors can stay in the Waylon Jennings suite in the Cresent Park Motel, or at the Waylon Jennings RV Park. Littlefield hosts many musical events, such as the West Texas Country Western, Gospel, and Blue Grass Jamboree at the Ag Center.

In addition to over 200 local businesses, Littlefield is within a short driving distance of Lubbock, which offers additional hospitals, medical specialist, universities, and an international airport providing flights to many places in the world.
